If anybody actually thinks this is some kind of conspiracy, or something, I’m gonna go ahead and tell those people to fuck off.

You’re gonna take this incredibly tragic, monstrous event, and make it about the government? Or some kind of higher power supplied him, or something? How dare you.

There are literally dozens of ways he could’ve gotten the money to buy those things, if he even bought some of them at all. Making this about anything other than the victims is foolish at best, and absolutely disgusting at worst. Fucking shameful.

Yes. It’s a valid question. That’s a lot of red flags that should have gone off if he didn’t have a dealer’s license. Apparently they didn’t. That’s a huge flaw in the system we keep being told exists to protect us from terrorists. Domestic terrorism is still terrorism & him being white is probably part of how he flew under the radar to commit this horrible crime. It doesn’t need to be a grand conspiracy to be troublesome to people who know how hard it is supposed to be to lay hands on an arsenal.

The local gun club rejected his application on the grounds that he made them uncomfortable. That this fact didn’t emerge until after he perpetrated a mass shooting is very scary.

I can’t buy too much allergy medicine in a given amount of time and I have to sign a registry when I do so, presumably so that if I’m cooking meth instead of dealing with allergies, they have a record of how much I’ve purchased. But this guy can buy $20,000 of weapons and ammo in three months and no one says boo? What?

So yes, let’s absolutely ask these questions, because no one did until it was too late.

Exactly. Preventing something like this from happening again includes addressing the mechanics that made it possible this time.

How do we know he bought them over 6 months? Was that reported somewhere? If not, maybe he’s been planning this for a while now. Or if he was given any student aid (scholarships, student loans, etc.) then he could have used that.

The first recorded purchase was in May & all of the purchases were technically legal albeit via unregulated sites online. My thing is we’re all supposed to be worried about tracking cookies & our ISP’s reporting what we do, but this dude bought an arsenal & no one noticed the pattern? Big Brother is not watching the right people.

I wish people on tumblr would read about the countless lawsuits filed against the US government, then maybe they’d stop thinking all of this shit was a coincidence or some random fucking event. Our government KILLS leaders of COUNTRIES and you really think they’re above planning a mass shooting in the days leading up to a GUN CONTROL BILL?! come on people, can’t wake you all up by myself. 

These conspiracy theories are absolutely bogus and really awful.  As a broke 20-something— do you know how easy it would be to get 2 or 3 credit cards to pay for the guns and ammunition?  Dude knew he was going to go off and i’m sure he didn’t mind a high interest rate on those cards since he knew he’d never be paying them off.  He used them to buy up whatever he wanted because he could.  I could apply for a mess of cards today, have them in 2 weeks, and go spend $20,000 on shoes, booze, or ammo if I really wanted to.  

Some people are just awful.  Some people are just rotten and broken and violent.  And sometimes there’s mental illness or health issues that go un-diagnosed.  

in 1966 Charles Whitman killed 16 people from a clock tower with a sniper rifle.  In autopsy they found a brain tumor that could have caused the irregular behavior.  

What good could possibly come from any group— government or not— planning to kill these people?  This was a horrible act committed by someone who is either a sociopath, or severely ill.  Any speculation to the contrary is disrespectful to the victims of this crime.  They already died senselessly— let’s not make them pawns in some paranoia steamed lunacy.  

Good? What do you mean what good?! This is a power profit play by play. You guys need to wake up and realize poverty and class and money, are constructs, we play this shit all day, we live this shit all day, but why? Open your fucking eyes.
